A Socialite’s Dream, Catbird Dallas

By Maggie Halligan

Dallas’ newest hot spot is a true gem and led by Culinary Director Jeramie Robinson (formerly of Uchi and The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek) and the Director of Restaurants, Bars and Events Jonathan Geffrard, a 12-year veteran of Hillstone Restaurant Group.

This truly unique venue is designed to encourage relaxed mingling, where you are sure to find the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy your evening.  There are many eclectic furnishings throughout the venue, which are known to be conversation topics and sometimes prickly to the touch. The Art Deco style is a perfect fit for the historic First National Bank building, now referred to as simply “The National”, which it calls home.  You will even find elements of the bank mixed into the design, such as the original safety deposit boxes on display at the entrance.

Some of the more talked about décor items are the glittering Russian nesting doll wearing CoCo Chanel and the large photo of the real Wolf of Wall Street Jordan Belfort, which is the first thing you see when stepping off the elevator.

The sprawling outdoor terrace is beautifully designed and an absolute sanctuary.  The large fire place provides warmth and adds to the romantic environments.  The trellis is interwoven with faux evergreen flora and every attention to detail has been made.  It’s the perfect environment to relax with friends or the one you love under a canopy of twinkling lights.

The cocktail menu offers two versions of the same cocktails, Classic and Catbird.  The Catbird version is made with a unique twist.  The small plates menu may seem limited at first, but I can assure you that everything we had was absolutely delicious and we didn’t feel as though we were lacking a single thing.

The doors open at 5pm Monday-Thursday and 4pm Friday-Sunday.  We do recommend that you make your reservations in advance, even during the week.

We hope to see you at Catbird!!
